THE ARTS INSTITUTE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HCC AND HANDMADE IN AMERICA TO HOST CRAFTS CONFERENCE
The Arts Institute in partnership with Haywood Community College and Handmade in America will hold a crafts conference on the HCC campus from Thursday, April 24 through Sunday, April 27. The retreat, "A Business Boot Camp for Artists and Craftspeople," will discuss the business aspects of running a craft or art business. Instructors and presenters will be present from across the country. The cost of the workshop is $180 and includes all meals and social functions.
On Thursday, April 24, registration will be at HCC from 3-4:50 p.m. There will be an informal social/networking opportunity from 7-9:30 p.m. On Friday, April 25, late registration will be held from 7:30-8:50 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., Bruce Baker will present how to "Be a Dynamic Craft Seller." The remainder of the retreat will focus on Tabletop discussions and breakout sessions with over 15 session topics, some of which are: Cyber-Selling; Who is Your Customer?; and Profitable Partnerships with Galleries. On Saturday evening, there will be additional time set aside for networking.
Whether you are an emerging artist, arts student, recent graduate, or an old pro you will find much of value offered at this workshop. You will also have a unique opportunity to network with the faculty and your fellow artists and craftspeople.
