FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SUMMER REGISTRATION AT HCC
Faculty and staff members at Haywood Community College are making final preparations for the start of summer semester 2003. Prospective students are encouraged to complete the application process as soon as possible.
Student Services staff are available to answer questions about the application process, financial aid, or any of HCC’s more than 45 programs of study. Registration for summer semester 2003 is Tuesday, May 20 from 9 a.m.-7p.m. Classes begin on Wednesday, May 21 and the drop-add period will run Wednesday, May 21 through Thursday, May 22.
Summer is a great time to enroll in a class to get outdoors and explore. Through the Fish and Wildlife Technology Program, a perfect opportunity to get an up-close look at a variety of aquatic life forms is the Aquatic Ecology course. Students may find themselves immersed in local bodies of water from places such as Big Creek to the Pigeon River, as they snorkel their way through learning some of our area habitats.
If you’re looking to get your feet wet in another field, Medical Transcription may be the certificate program for you. In three semesters, students will learn medical terminology, word processing, and medical transcription. Upon completion, students will be eligible to find employment transcribing in a variety of medical environments.
