THINKING ABOUT OPENING A BUSINESS IN HAYWOOD COUNTY?
On Wednesday, November 16, from 5-9 p.m., representatives from HCC’s Small Business Center, SBTDC (Small Business Technology Development Center), SBA
( Small Business Administration), SCORE ( Counselors to America’s Small Business) and MMF ( Mountain Microenterprise Fund) will be available at the Regional High Technology Center in the Waynesville Industrial Park .The Haywood County Economic Development Commission, in cooperation with the Haywood Chamber of Commerce and Haywood Community College, will host this free Business Start-up Forum.
Attendees of this Forum will also have an opportunity to learn more about how they can
apply for the Haywood Chamber of Commerce sponsored Business Plan Contest with up to 10,000 in start-up money to be awarded to the best business plan(s). Individuals will get the nurturing beyond what is currently available to help their business ideas grow.
Also on the agenda is speaker Denise Ryan. Ryan is a former small business consultant and now runs her own company called FireStar which specializes in motivating others who want to start a business. Audiences love her humor and the tools she gives them to bring the fire into their lives, both personally and professionally. Ryan will present her workshop entitled, “Should I Quit My Day Job? Evaluating Your Potential Success as an Entrepreneur” from 6-8 pm. Attendance is free!
