ARTS BUSINESS INSTITUTE BOOT CAMP SERVES DIVERSE GROUP OF ARTISTS

Participants traveled from all over the United States, as far away as Alaska, to attend this year's Arts Business Institute's boot camp recently held at Haywood Community College. For the fourth consecutive year, the workshop's goal was to teach artists promotion, product line development, pricing, and techniques to sell their own work.

"Our faculty makes us unique. They are experts who are active gallery owners, artists, and art consultants from all different states," explains Alisha Vincent, ABI Interim Executive Director. "Our audience is very diverse-artists, potential gallery owners, and entrepreneurs."

According to Vincent, the majority of attendees are over the age of 45 and 60% women.

Workshop sessions included one-on-one mentor sessions and web critiques, local North Carolina marketing opportunities, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

ABI is a non-profit organization serving the educational needs of individual artists through traveling workshops across the United States and Canada. The boot camp was presented by HandMade in America, ABI, and HCC.
