HCC Offers Seminar on People Skills
The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar entitled "People Skills for Professionals" on Wednesday, March 22, from 9:00 a.m. until noon on campus in the Student Center building. Our world is in a hurry. People want what they want when they want it and they don't want excuses. Television has taught them to be relentlessly demanding and self centered. Does every client or employee that approaches your desk seem to have a chip on his or her shoulder? Do you wish you could command more respect from the people with whom you deal on a day-to-day basis? Tim Dannelly, seasoned manager and professional speaker, believes those who deal with the public or hold a position in a large organization face this situation daily. Some are so good at keeping things flowing smoothly that they appear to have some sort of secret. Join Dannelly for a practical approach to dealing with the often-confrontational public. Learn a step-by-step approach to successfully defusing volatile moments, even with total strangers. Explore ways to give your organization a more businesslike, yet enjoyable, climate. You'll even be reminded of why your job performance is so vital.
