Employment Law Attorney Speaks on Preventing Harassment and Attracting and Retaining Employees
The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will sponsor Stuart Levine, HR consultant and employment law attorney, for two free workshops on April 11 and 12. Stuart Levine & Associates (www.levineassociates.net) offers Recruiting, Employment Law, and Human Resources Consulting with a proven record of success in the pharmaceutical, restaurant, high-technology, textile, life sciences, retail, manufacturing, engineering, telecommunication, and electronics industries.
The first workshop, "Preventing Workplace Harassment" will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 6-9 p.m. at the Regional High Technology Center in the Waynesville Industrial Park. A new Gallup Organization poll found that 15% of all workers say
they have been discriminated against in their workplace during the past year. This workshop teaches participants how to recognize and prevent harassment in the workplace. Topics covered include recognizing workplace harassment, the definition of sexual harassment, workplace responsibilities to prevent harassment, and handling a
complaint of harassment.
The second workshop," Attracting and Retaining Employees for Bottom Line Results", will be held on Wednesday morning, April 12, from 9 a.m. until noon at Haywood Vocational Opportunities (Riverbend Building). Employee satisfaction, commitment and loyalty are directly related to customer satisfaction and productivity. Topics covered during this highly interactive program include: 1) the 9 recruiting and selection actions that support employee retention, 2) the 7 essential requirements for a committed workforce, and 3) the importance of linking strategy, employees, customers and operations to the organization's core purpose.
