Make a Small Investment of Your Time and Money
for Increased Business Success
The Continuing Education division of Haywood Community college will offer Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (REAL) for the fifteenth session beginning
September 25. This 5-week business planning course will help anyone who wants to explore the opportunities and challenges of opening a business and help prepare for the upcoming Haywood Chamber of Commerce sponsored Business Plan Competition.
Learn how to take a business idea, improve or expand an existing business, and “walk through” the following steps: Self-employment assessments, the business plan essentials, legal structures, community analysis, marketing research and feasibility, targeting the customer and meeting customer needs, analyzing the competition, taxes and licenses, utilizing professionals, computerized cash flow analysis, and financial feasibility.
Local business owner, Ralph Iglesias of Crawford Creek Electric says, “I really enjoyed the REAL program. I went the class looking for one thing and instead discovered much more… You have opened my eyes to great amount of knowledge. The material is taught in a solid straight forward method. The class has given me more confidence, and the cash flow and break even formulas are really great. It is a very good program.”
The REAL course will be offered September 25 through October 25 on Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 6-9 pm for a minimal fee of $55. For more information, call the Small Business Center at 627 4512.
