HCC EMPLOYEES RECEIVE HAYWOOD COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Haywood County Chamber of Commerce recently awarded two Haywood Community College employees with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2006. The award was presented to Greg Rutherford, HCC Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development and the Regional High Technology Center and Interim Associate Vice President of Instruction, and Sharron Donnahoe, Director of the Small Business Center, at the Commerce's annual dinner. The award is for outstanding service for appreciation for their teamwork and diligent behind the scenes work in supporting chamber activities and strengthening the long and active partnership with the college.

CeCe Hipps, Executive Director of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, explains, "This year two recipients were selected because they work diligently and professionally as a team. Both Sharron Donnahoe and Greg Rutherford have committed many volunteer hours in developing, promoting, and enhancing the programs and initiatives of the chamber."

Both Donnahoe and Rutherford serve on the Business and Community Development Committee, while Greg is chairman of the Governmental Relations and is a member of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

"In addition, they have assisted the chamber in planning business meetings, press conferences, and award ceremonies," Hipps said. "HCC's Greg and Sharron are truly a valuable resource and community partner with the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce."
