HCC Offers Program to Help Businesses with Hispanic Employees

The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar entitled, “How to Communicate (and Retain) Hispanic Employees” on Tuesday, March 20, 6-8 p.m. at the Regional High Technology Center in the Waynesville Industrial Park. As a business owner, it is increasingly possible that you may have Hispanic employees. You may also have questions about documentation,

how to communicate with them, and how to make the workplace more amicable and close the communication gap between Hispanic and non-Hispanic employees. If you are interested in hiring more employees, this seminar will provide the tools to guide you through the hiring process.

You will be able to:

Explore cultural differences in work and family

Examine the myths and realities of immigration status and how it affects your business

Learn how to resolve communication issues to have a more productive workplace

Norma Duran Brown and Dawn Williams-Tox of Communicate Associates, LLC will be the presenters. This company specializes in Spanish language services. Call the Small Business Center at 627 4512 to preregister or for more information.
