HCC of Offer Accounting for Arts and Crafts Businesses
The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar on Monday, April 23 from 6-9 p.m. entitled, “Accounting for Arts and Crafts Businesses”. This workshop will be held on the HCC campus, in the Student Center Building, first floor. Quite simply, accounting tells you when you make money. It can help the artist and craftsperson identify trends in sales and expenditures. Used properly, accounting allows the business owner to make decisions that can quickly boost profitability or enable you to avoid cash shortages. During this workshop, you will learn when to start keeping records and how long to keep them, how to file your taxes by using your records, and what records should you keep. Explore record keeping systems and determine which system is best for you to use. Discuss if you need an accountant and what to look for if you hire an accountant. Examine what deductions you can take on your taxes that might be different from other businesses. Harry Ponder of Carolina Business Services in Weaverville will be the presenter. Call the Small Business Center at 627 4512 to preregister for this free seminar.
