HCC offers “Becoming a Better Leader”

The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar on Wednesday morning, April 25, from 9 a.m. until noon entitled “Becoming a Better Leader”. It will be held on HCC’s campus in the Student Center, first floor. Most leaders in American business have worked their way into their current position through a series of promotions. Now they function as a leader the way they functioned as a “worker” – by watching what someone else does and by adapting that to fit their own personality. In too many cases, one is reminded of the axiom, “If you keep on doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve been getting.” This workshop provides proven tools of leadership based upon what has worked for thousands of successful leaders. By investing a morning, you’ll find captivating examples of what really works. These are practical techniques that can be applied in your business environment:

Developing a winning personal attitude

Building a winning team

Little things supervisors do to achieve great things

Helping difficult employees become outstanding employees

Defusing volatile workplace situations without losing good people

Tim Dannelly, of Edenton, NC, is a professional speaker and trainer and author of Living the American Dream. Dannelly will bring real world examples to this seminar. His experience as a business owner and corporate manager will help make learning an enjoyable experience. You’ll picture yourself and your employees as you gain the insight he offers. Call the Small Business Center at 627 4512 to preregister for this free seminar.
