HCC to Offer GED Express Course Beginning May 31
Haywood Community College's GED Express course will be held on Thursday, May 31 from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 2, 2007 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
GED Express allows busy individuals the chance to fit classes into their schedule in just an evening and a Saturday. After completing the two express classes, students are then ready to take the official GED tests. A total of nine hours is required for preparation and practice testing through GED Express. The official GED tests require eight hours to complete.
A GED, or General Education Development, is a high school diploma equivalency credential. It is a nationally accepted standard of high school completion that measures knowledge in writing skills, social studies, science, mathematics, and literature and the arts.
