Two Haywood Community College Professional Crafts students recently won awards in an exhibit titled "The Art of Our Community Colleges." Kevin Harbaugh, Professional Crafts-Jewelry student, won Best in Show for his Forged Silver Spoon. Professional Crafts-Fiber student Nancy Lawrence won First Place in Three-Dimensional, Functional Art for her Woven Jacket.

The exhibit was on display at the D. Samuel Neill Gallery in Hendersonville. It was organized by the Arts Council of Henderson County and features work from Asheville-Buncombe, Blue Ridge, Haywood, and Isothermal Community Colleges.
