The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar entitled “Construction Contract Opportunities with Haywood Community College: Introducing the Creative Arts Facility and Solar Systems” on Monday, November 9. This informative program will be held from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM on main campus in the 1500 building auditorium. The seminar will focus on:

  • Informing local contractors, subcontractors, and tradesman of solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems and their application in the Creative Arts facility.
  • Examining operation, maintenance and other construction considerations of solar and other sustainable systems.
  • Presenting the preliminary construction plans and timeline for Haywood Community College’s Creative Arts facility construction and contract opportunities for local contractors, subcontractors, and tradesman (day-lighting control system installation, solar systems installation, lighting control systems, painters, and welders, HVAC, tile, etc).
  • Defining timelines, the bidding process, and how to gain access to information about the project.

This seminar is not mandatory to bid on the project but intended to inform local businesses of the project opportunity. The legal bid process and a pre-bid conference will be announced at a late date.
