Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Division recently held two training sessions for employees of the Haywood County School System and Bethel Christian Academy. Around 50 people ranging from teachers and coaches to counselors and administrators attended the session to learn the basics of first aid and CPR for both adult and children. Tonya Clark, HCC Coordinator of EMS Training, taught the class. “We would like as many people in the school system to be trained as possible. It is wonderful knowing these individuals took this class on their own time. Now each school can be better prepared in case of an emergency. Each individual trained in CPR and First Aid has the potential to make a difference in someone's life.”
