Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Department will offer two new online courses:  Introduction to QuickBooks 2011 and Performing Payroll in QuickBooks 2011. New sessions of each course run every month. Lasting six weeks, two new lessons are released weekly (for a total of 12). The courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments. A dedicated professional instructor facilitates every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

Participants in Introduction to QuickBooks 2011 will learn to harness the power of QuickBooks 2011 to take control of their business finances. Students will discover how to set up a chart of accounts, pay bills, reconcile a checking account, and create and print invoices, receipts, and statements. In addition, students will discover how to track their accounts payable, inventory, and receivables, and how to generate estimates and reports.

In Performing Payroll in QuickBooks 2011, participants will quickly master all the steps for setting up a payroll system in QuickBooks. Students will learn how to create checks, calculate payroll taxes and withholding, generate W-2s and other forms, and perform a wide range of additional payroll tasks quickly and easily.
