The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer “How to Write a Business Plan” on Tuesday, September 18, from 6- 9 PM, on campus in the Student Center.

For any business, the first step is to turn the would-be owner’s basic idea into a written viable plan of action. Every business begins with an idea for either a product to be manufactured or sold, or a service. This idea must be transformed from a vision to a working plan. Your business plan must first, convince you that your business will work “on paper”. It can then be used to convince others that it will work. With it, you can apply for a loan and the plan can subsequently serve as a road map for your business success.  Discover the tools necessary to write a successful plan by:

•           identifying parts of a business plan and understanding its purpose and uses

•           examining the Who, What, When, Where, and Why of your plan

•           uncovering the basics of how to write a successful business plan

The presenter is Arlene Childers, a business consultant and trainer from Morganton, NC.

She is also Assistant Director of NC REAL (Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning).
