Haywood Community College’s PCS for GED Program will hold a drawing for a fully functional HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop at the college’s Jammin’ at the Millpond event this Saturday. Tickets for the laptop may be purchased at the High Technology Programs table. In addition, volunteers will be on site by the entrance to the lower level of the Student Services Building to accept donated PC computer equipment for the PCs for GED Program. This green initiative is aimed at helping members of the community discard old PC computer equipment while supporting the educational success of HCC GED graduates.

The PCs for GED Program awards donated PC computer equipment to HCC GED graduates. In addition, HCC students who are interested in learning about refurbishing computer equipment and about proper disposal methods benefit from working with these donated computers.  Another benefit of this program is saving community members time and money in disposing of the PC or erasing valuable data.  This in turn helps keep these PCs out of the landfill.
