Haywood Community College’s Professional Crafts Clay Program will host visiting artist Linda Christianson on Monday, February 8 and Tuesday, February 9 in the Creative Arts Building Room 7226. This event is free and open to the public.
Christianson is a studio potter in Lindstrom, Minnesota. “I am interested in a pot that does its duty well yet can stand on its own as a visual object. These pots are not sculpture; they seem to act more like engaging tools than anything else,” she says.
On February 8, the event will be held from 9 am until 5 pm and will include demonstrations and conversation. From 9 until 11:50 am on February 9, Christianson will demonstrate and have a slide lecture. From 1 until 4 pm on February 9, she will talk individually with participants.
