Haywood Community College is seeking applicants to run for the Student Government Association for the 2016-17 academic year. Campaigning and elections will take place in April.  SGA is a good fit for students that have leadership potential or have shown leadership skills in a club or class.  By fulfilling office responsibilities and duties, SGA officers earn $1000 at the end of each semester.

Students interested in participating in SGA should attend one of the following information sessions regarding the responsibilities and requirements of holding an office:

·        Feb. 16th at 10am in room 1525, Student Services Conference Room

·        Feb. 17th at 3pm in room 1525, Student Services Conference Room

·        Feb. 18th at 12pm in room 1525, Student Services Conference Room

Students do not have to attend an information session to apply.  Applications are available in Student Services. Students are welcome to stop by the office of Laura Simmons, Room 1527D in the Student Center for more information.  Students must have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to be considered.

This is a great opportunity for students to be a voice at the local and state level while gaining excellent leadership skills.
