Haywood Community College would like to thank the guests, sponsors, and donors of the Shine & Dine Gala held recently. Around 150 guests turned out to support HCC at this event.  More than $22,000 was raised for the HCC Excels Fund.

"We were so pleased with the success of our inaugural gala!” says HCC President Dr. Barbara Parker. “The support we received from the community through sponsorships, donations of silent auction items, and attendance at the gala exceeded our expectations.  As a result, our HCC Excels fund has gotten off to a great start, and our students will ultimately benefit from the investments made by our community."

The Gala was a smashing success due to campus and community support.  HCC students played an important role, from the Computer-Integrated Machining students who crafted commemorative party favors to the Clay and Horticulture programs which created lovely centerpieces.  The Timbersports team wowed guests with demonstrations and the SGA, and Student Ambassadors served as gracious hosts.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort was the presenting sponsor for the event.  It took a large group of united people working towards a common goal to make this gala the success it was.
