There’s still time to register for fall semester at Haywood Community College. Registration is underway now through Friday, August 4 - no appointment is needed. Students can also apply for scholarships through Friday, August 4. Classes begin Tuesday, August 15.

New this fall, HCC will offer an associate in engineering degree program. This program is designed to prepare students for transfer into a Bachelor of Science program in the field of engineering. Students in the associate in engineering program will be on a pathway that may lead them toward a career as a professional engineer.                                           

Another new offering available this fall is the CALS PackTrac program. A collaborative effort between North Carolina community colleges and NC State University (NCSU), the CALS PackTrac Program is designed for community college students in agriculture and life sciences to smoothly transfer to NCSU. Transfer requirements include a cumulative 3.0 GPA, 30 semester hours of transferable credit and eligibility to enroll at NCSU. Students in the program will receive academic advising by CALS and HCC advising teams throughout the course of the program.

In addition to these new programs, HCC offers several other programs of interest. Some of these include Automotive Systems Technology, Collison Repair and Refinishing Technology, Cosmetology and Information Technology. HCC offers unique programs of study, drawing students from across North Carolina, as well as other states. These programs include Fish and Wildlife Management Technology, Forest Management Technology and Professional Crafts Clay, Fiber, Jewelry and Wood.
