The Haywood Community College 2018 graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, May 11, at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place on the Clyde campus in the Charles M. Beall Auditorium, Student Services Building. This year, over 645 certificates, diplomas and degrees will be awarded.

Due to limited space and the increased number of graduates participating, two separate graduation ceremonies will be held this year. The 4:30 p.m. ceremony will include graduates of Natural Resources from the following programs of study:  Fish & Wildlife Management Technology, Forest Management Technology, Horticulture Technology, Low Impact Development and Natural Resources Specialist. The first ceremony will also include graduates of the Health & Human Services department from the following programs of study:  Cosmetology, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education-Administration, Early Childhood Education-Special Education, Infant-Toddler Care, Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Medical Office Administration/Electronic Health Records, Nursing and School Age Education.

The 7:30 p.m. ceremony will include graduates of the Arts & Sciences department from the following programs of study:  Associate in Arts, Associate in General Education and Associate in Science. In addition, the first ceremony will include graduates of the Business & Industry department from the following programs of study:  Accounting, Automotive Systems Technology, Building Construction Technology, Business Administration, Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, Computer Information Technology, Computer-Integrated Machining Technology, Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Systems Technology, Networking Technology, Professional Crafts-Clay, Professional Crafts-Fiber, Professional Crafts-Jewelry, Professional Crafts Jewelry-Hand Wrought Metals, Professional Crafts-Wood and Welding Technology. Haywood Early College graduates will also participate in the 7:30 p.m. ceremony.

Recipient of the Master Teacher Award will also be recognized. This is a distinguished teaching award presented to the full-time curriculum faculty member who most exemplifies excellence in teaching by demonstrating consistently excellent teaching, leadership, and service to the College and the community. The recipient is the College's nominee for the annual North Carolina Community College System Excellence in Teaching Award.

In addition, the recipient of the 2018 HCC Outstanding Alumni Award will be recognized at both ceremonies. The Outstanding Alumni Award is given annually to a Haywood Community College alumnus who has attained distinction and success in his or her career field or through community service.

Recipients of both the Academic Excellence Award and Superior Staff Award will also be recognized.
