The 2018 Region A Nursing Consortium Pinning Ceremony was held recently on the campus of Haywood Community College. This marks the 52nd Pinning Ceremony for Region A which included a candle-lighting with graduates reciting the Nightingale Pledge. Schools in the Consortium are Haywood Community College and Tri-County Community College. HCC student speaker was Megan A. Grimm. HCC RN completer speaker was Amanda Faye Millwood.

The US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics says employment of registered nurses is projected to grow 15% from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average of all occupations.

HCC students that finished the RN (registered nurse) completer program include: Jessica R. Case, Lisa Michelle Cox, Amanda Lynn Davies, Cassie Deal, Patricia Griffin, Jessica Q. Madigan, Casey Marie Merriman, Amanda Faye Millwood, Yuri Pankov, Coriel Valentine and Terra Ward.
