The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer a free Social Media and Digital Marketing Summit for the Small Business Owner Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31. The series will be held on campus in library room 206.
“Maximizing Facebook for Small Business” will be held October 30, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Facebook is over 10 years old and it is still changing. Now that you have it, this workshop will help small business owners: understand your analytics; make posting easier and automated; understand how to Go Live; and use groups and video within the platform for your brand.
“Maximizing Instagram for Small Business” will be held October 30, 1-4:00 p.m. Once you have Instagram, the next question is how do you use it to maximize marketing and branding for your small business? This hands-on course will show small business owners how to: post and when the best times are for their brand; create and upload video; and go live and use hashtags to attract potential clients.
“Video Marketing for Small Business” will be held October 31, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Video marketing is an excellent opportunity to showcase your small business. Small business owners will learn about the various video marketing platforms available and tools to incorporate video marketing into your marketing strategy. Attendees should have an iPhone or Android phone to get the most value out of this seminar.
“Podcasting for Small Business” will be held October 31, 1-4:00 p.m. Podcasting is a great way to familiarize people with your small business, interests, build a brand and show your expertise. In this workshop, you will learn best practices for: choosing a topic and name; format of your podcast; studio and podcasting gear; and audio, graphics and hosting.
The Small Business Center will also host a “Social Media Strategies for the Creative Small Business” seminar on October 30, 5-7:00 p.m. at the Haywood County Arts Council. This seminar is designed to help the small business owner put the pieces together. If you have a disjointed strategy or no strategy at all, this seminar will help to navigate your current marketing plan and enhance it with proven social media strategies. This hands-on workshop will provide attendees with the skills to automate daily marketing tasks, find targeted content to share with your audience and connect social media outlets to maximize reach.
