Haywood Community College registration for spring semester is underway now by appointment with an advisor. Classes begin Monday, January 7. The College offers more than 30 programs of study with many options for associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.
According to scholarships.com, there are several reasons why more and more students are choosing to attend community colleges as their first choice for higher education. Lower cost of tuition is a top reason. At a fraction of the cost of a four-year school, community colleges provide students with flexible schedule options and smaller class sizes. This makes HCC a perfect choice for people who are employed or have other obligations, such as taking care of a family. Courses are available in person and online, making the time right for each student.
In addition, students are paying less which means they can explore different career options without spending a lot of money. If a student should decide to continue their education after two years, credits earned at HCC are accepted at most public institutions.
HCC has qualified instructors that have experience in the field they teach. In addition, they care about their students and get to know them on a one-on-one basis. Students also benefit from the connections these instructors have with professionals in the field.
Most programs at HCC integrate hands-on experience into the curriculum, providing students a leg up for taking the next step in their journey.
