Haywood Community College will have a Career and College Promise Dual Enrollment Program Open House Thursday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the College’s Auditorium. While classes are available for high school juniors and seniors, it’s never too early to plan for the future. These classes are open to students in public schools, private schools and home schools. Career and College Promise classes are tuition free and allow students to earn high school and college credit at the same time.
The Career and College Promise program is a great way for students to experience the rigor and independence of college life while still in high school. These classes are available on the high school campus, at HCC and online. In addition, the classes save time and money while students get a jump-start on their college education.
Elly Hamlin, 2018 Pisgah High school graduate, took full advantage of the Career and College Promise Program. She earned an associate in arts college transfer program completely tuition free. With this jump-start, Hamlin hopes to finish a bachelor’s degree at least a year early.
Career and College Promise classes are available in these programs at HCC: accounting & finance, automotive systems technology, business administration, college transfer, college transfer-engineering, collision repair and refinishing, computer integrated-machining, criminal justice technology, early childhood preschool, electrical systems technology, forest management technology, information technology, medical office administration and pre-nursing.
