Chain saws will be buzzing and sawdust flying as college teams vie for the number one spot in the STIHL Timbersports Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Qualifier Competition Saturday, March 30. The qualifier will be part of the Mid-Atlantic Woodsmen’s Meet where HCC hosts 5 other timbersports teams from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Activities will be held at the Haywood County Fairgrounds and will begin at 8 a.m. Events will continue throughout the day and will end around 5 p.m. There will be a local food truck at the event as well as fun activities for children. 

Winner of the qualifier will go to the STIHL national competition.

Tickets for the event will cost $5 for adults and will be free for children 12 years old and under. Sponsors to date include the HCC Foundation, Haywood Electric Membership Corporation, Columbia Forest Products and STIHL.
