Haywood Community College recently held a ribbon-cutting for the Advanced Manufacturing Incubator. This one-of-a-kind facility is designed to bridge the gap between manufacturing-based ideas and implementation and was made possible by a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission. Through a comprehensive approach, the space will combine the skillsets and credentials obtained by alumni, current students and prospective students with technical assistance and access to equipment.
The Advanced Manufacturing Incubator aims to improve the access of support resources and services while reducing barriers to entry, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the growth and success of the manufacturing sector of Haywood County. The space is equipped with technology and equipment needed to create projects using manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding and 3D printing.
