Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Department will hold a free Community Health Fair Saturday, February 1, 2-6 p.m. at the Regional High Technology Center. This fair is held in partnership with Haywood Regional Medical Center and Haywood County EMS. Attendees will learn home safety tips and basic principles of CPR. In addition, participants will have access to car seat safety checks and free health screenings such as glucose checks, blood pressure checks and 12 lead EKGs.  

HCC paramedic and EMT basic students will join with their instructors, hospital representatives and EMS employees to provide important basic first aid tips, as well as signs and symptoms of heart attacks, strokes and diabetes. Those in attendance will learn home safety tips such as fire safety, the importance of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and much more.
