Haywood Community College fall semester registration for new and continuing students begins April 27. There are many reasons to make HCC the first choice in continuing your education.

Not only is HCC a fraction of the cost of a four-year school, financial aid and scholarships are available. For the second year, the HCC Foundation will offer Tuition Free Guarantee Scholarships for all 2020 Haywood County High School graduates this upcoming year. This includes public, private and homeschool graduates.

The HCC Tuition Free Guarantee will pay up to the full amount of in-state tuition and select fees for any 2020 qualifying high school graduate from Haywood County who does not obtain the total amount needed through federal financial aid and/or scholarships. This guarantee will be applicable for up to two years (fall and spring semesters only) of enrollment as long as the student continues to meet predefined criteria.

HCC realizes that everyone learns at different levels. Students can choose from a variety of class delivery methods. Several of our programs can be finished completely online. In addition, we have diplomas, certificates and associate degrees available.

If your plan is to continue to a four-year school, HCC has articulation agreements with The University of North Carolina System to transfer with junior status. Most recently, HCC signed a memorandum of understanding with Western Carolina University through the Catamount Navigator Program. This program is a significant step toward a more seamless transition for students seeking additional higher education opportunities through the establishment of a direct-entry admission program.

If transferring to a four-year school is not for you, HCC offers a fast track to the workforce. In two years or less, you can gain the skills needed to earn Associate degrees, certificates and diplomas that lead to the workforce.

Small class sizes mean students receive one-on-one attention. There are several club options for students to get involved, including the Student Government Association, Lumberjack Team and many more.
