HCC OFFERS HUNTER SAFETY COURSES AND INTERNATIONAL BOW HUNTER EDUCATION PROGRAM—UPDATED
Haywood Community College’s Natural Resources Division in cooperation with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will offer Hunter Safety courses and a two-day International Bow Hunter Education Program.
The Hunter Safety course will be taught September 6-8, October 18-20, November 8-10, and December 13-15. Attendance is required for three consecutive evenings to receive certification. These classes will meet in rooms 309 and 310 on the HCC campus from 6-9:30 p.m. Please note that although this is a hunter safety course, no firearms are allowed on the HCC campus at any time.
The International Bow Hunter Education Program will be taught on August 27 from 6-9 p.m. and on August 28 from 8 a.m.-until completion at the Balsam Depot (the old fish hatchery) on the Waynesville Bypass.
These courses are offered as a community service and are free of charge. There are no age limits. Pre-registration is required. To register, please contact Jenny Carver, HCC Natural Resources Division, at (828) 627-4560 or 627-4561.
