Natural Resources Open House

Haywood Community College’s Natural Resources Department will hold an Open House on Friday, March 31st, from 1 p.m. until 4p.m. at the JM West Center on the main campus. In addition to tours, other activities are also planned.

Guests will be able to meet HCC’s instructors, participate in campus walks featuring tree and bird identification elements, and see a demonstration from the HCC Lumberjack Team.

HCC’s Natural Resources programs are a great fit for those who like to be outdoors, protect the environment and work with plants and animals. Students can choose from Fish and Wildlife Management Technology or Forestry Management Technology. Both programs rely heavily on hands-on learning with field trips and time spent in the college’s outdoor labs and teaching forests.

Matt Heimburg, HCC’s Dean of Natural Resources, says, “Our faculty have designed this open house to give participants a feel for what it’s like to be a student in HCC’s Natural Resources programs. We are excited to provide an opportunity for everyone to meet our excellent Natural Resources faculty and speak with current students about their experience in the programs.”

Summer and Fall semester registration at Haywood Community College is now open. For more information, visit haywood.edu or call 828-627-2821.
