Unique Programs 

  • Our Natural Resources department offers several unique programs special to our state.  
  • The Fish & Wildlife Management associate degree is the only one offered throughout the state of North Carolina and is accredited by the North American Wildlife Technology Association. 
  • Our Forest Management Technology associate degree is the only degree program accredited by the Society of American Foresters. 
  • Professional Crafts are unique to western North Carolina and HCC is the only college in the state of North Carolina to offer four different focus areas for a two-year associate degree. Focus areas include Fiber, Clay, Wood and Jewelry. Haywood Community College’s Professional Crafts programs are the only ones in the nation that provide both hands-on craft curriculum and the business training to aid students in successfully starting their own business. 

Instructional Design & Online Learning 

  • Numerous students are enrolled in fully online programs, as well as hybrid courses. 
  • HCC offers over 50% of our courses in an online capacity. 
  • With 7 associate degrees, 3 diplomas, and 15 certificate programs offered fully online, HCC meets the needs of our students where they are to help on their educational path.
