Fish & Wildlife Management Technology
This program is designed to provide the practice and academic skills essential for Natural Resource Management. Students will gain an understanding of the principles and develop competencies and technical skills in the production, utilization, and conservation of natural resources. You will also learn many technical and conservation skills. Graduates of this program qualify for positions in natural resources technician positions in a wide range of outdoor national venues.

Success Story
Ben Kniceley, Haywood Community College 2014 Fish and Wildlife Management Technology and 2015 Forest Management Technology graduate, finished third place recently in the STIHL Timbersports Rookie of the World Competition. The event was held in the Austrian Alps. Kniceley is the Assistant County Ranger for the North Carolina Forest Service in Duplin County. He enjoys the variety of the job and to be able to work outdoors. Some of the tasks of his job includes forest management, fire control management, and prescribed burns.
