Medication Aide

Highlights of the Program

This NC Board of Nursing approved course is designed to meet the training requirements to become qualified as a Medication Aide.

Covering the six rights of medication administration, topics will include medication administration (oral, topical), effectively tracking medication distribution, and taking vital signs as necessary.

Upon completion, students should be prepared to take the competency exam and demonstrate the necessary skills to qualify for the listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry.

Course Information

Class Dates

  • January 14 - February 4: Wednesdays from 8:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
  • February 5 - February 26: Thursdays from 8:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
  • March 2 - March 23: Mondays from 8:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m.

Class Requirements

  • Tuition: $119.55 (includes student manual)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current listing on NC Nurse Aide I Registry
  • Copy of unexpired Drivers license or State ID
  • Copy of Signed Social Security Card
