Highlights of the Program
HCC is partnering with UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy to offer The Pharmacy Technicians and Vaccinations: An Advanced Training Program. Under the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) PREP Act, qualified pharmacy
technicians may now administer COVID-19 vaccinations to aid in the vaccination effort.
This program will teach students how to safely administer and store immunizations
and manage related tasks. Administering immunizations is a public health need that
this role helps to fill in their community which helps to reduce the spread of disease.
HCC will also offer optional American Heart Association® (AHA®) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) certification included in the price of the immunization program to ensure proper
training of technicians in case of an emergency.
