Critical Incident Stress Management

This Group and Individual Crisis Intervention course will prepare students to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services. Fundamentals outlined will include Crisis Management Briefing, Rest Information and Transition Services, Defusing and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing.

This course is designed for anyone in the fields of:

Course fee: $70 (no charge if NC Emergency Services Personnel)

Classes are held at HCC’s West Waynesville Campus: 23 Hendrix, St., Waynesville, NC

SarTopo Mapping

Basic SarTopo

Designed for searchers, LEO, IMT, this course is geared for introductory use of the SarTopo platform. This course will cover:

  • How the program works with basic map building knowledge
  • How to use these tools during the initial response period
  • Desktop and mobile version of SarTopo

Register

Advanced SarTopo

Designed for Command Staff & Search Managers. This course will cover:

  • Utilize all tools within SarTopo to streamline maps & real-time tracking
  • Utilization of other features such as SarObjects and Custom Layers

Completion of Basic SarTopo is required to attend the Advanced session

Both classes will take place at the HCC Regional High Tech Center (112 Industrial Park Dr., Waynesville, NC)

Complex Airways

Offered in partnership with PreMed, this course will review aspects in the assessment and management of the complex airway. Tips and tricks for airway management success and a review of drug assisted intubation highlight the lectures.

Students will gain hands-on experience in stations focused on difficult intubation, drug selection and calculation, and skill performance in an anatomy lab.

This is the perfect course to increase your skills in combating the failed airway.

Tuition: $70 (unless exempt)
