“HCC students, faculty and staff rose to the challenges that the last year presented,” explains HCC Vice President of Instruction Wendy Hines. “I am proud of the work that was accomplished to keep students on track. For fall semester, we look forward to welcoming students back. It is planned to offer career and technical classes in lab settings following COVID protocols. Other students will have a variety of modalities for their experience based on their individual comfort level.”

HCC will offer a new Teacher Preparation degree starting this fall, where students may choose between Associate in Arts and Associate in Science tracks. Students will complete 60 semester hours of college transfer courses. After completing the two-year degree, students can utilize the Articulation Agreement to transfer to the University of North Carolina System with junior status. Students must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.7. This teacher preparation degree is available to Career and College Promise high school students as well as traditional students.
