It’s essential to use tools, like Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), in safe, responsible, and ethical ways.

AI Use Statement

Haywood Community College defines Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool that creates words, ideas, answers, and content. Tools include but are not limited to Microsoft Copilot, Grammarly, ChatGPT, Quillbot, Google Gemini, Claude, study aids, translation tools, automated writing assistants, code generators, and AI-based image or video creators. These tools may be found online or within digital textbooks or resources. Allowed use of AI tools may vary from course to course. 

Students are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all AI-generated information and ensuring that the final work reflects their own understanding, voice, and critical thinking. If you are unsure whether a tool or action is allowed, you must ask the instructor before using it.
