Pottery: Raku Rodeo

Students will participate in the exciting interactive firing process known as raku! We will spend two classes making pots and the last class we will raku fire what we have made. Students must be able to make basic thrown or hand built pots on their own; as our main focus will be on firing, not forming. Students should come to our firing classes dressed in natural fiber clothing, with long pants and a long sleeved shirt, and closed toed shoes required for taking hot pots out of the kiln. We have leather gloves and other protective equipment available.
