Pottery: Setting Up a Home Studio
Instructor: Christine Bendo
Location: Sycamore Bdg, RM 7105
In this informative lecture style class, students will learn the steps to take when setting up a home studio. Students will learn how to create a system for their clay waste and reclaim, choose work surfaces, wheels, and other equipment, and get a list of other basic equipment and tools required for turning a garage, shed, or basement space into a clay studio. We will also talk about kiln selection and safe operation practices. Students will leave with handouts about the material covered so that they can confidently begin to set up their own workspace at home.
