Student is working on a sketchbook using colored pencils, paint, scissors, leaves and string.Instructor: Lauren Medford

Location: Sycamore Bdg, RM 7105

Art journaling is a creative and flexible practice for artists, hobbyists, and anyone looking to explore self-expression. An art journal serves as a visual record; capturing thoughts, memories, and emotions through imagery, color, and texture. It’s also a space to experiment freely with techniques, develop new ideas, and play with mark-making without pressure or rules. In this course, students will create their own art journals while exploring a variety of mixed media approaches. Together, we’ll focus on building a sustainable creative practice rooted in experimentation and curiosity. No prior art experience is needed—just a willingness to explore. See registration page for materials list.
