Have you always wanted to try oil painting but just were not sure where to begin? This class is for you! Each class we will cover skills that will help you learn the magic of oil painting. We will discuss the tools used and how to care for and clean them. We will learn a little color theory as we practice mixing colors and experiment with some different mediums. Students are responsible for materials cost. A list will be provided.

Oil Paint set with black, white, red, blue, yellow, brown (Amazon 10 tube set is available around $33)

Three Canvas boards, 9x12 or 11x14 (Michaels has 5 pk $13)

Strathmore Oil Painting Pad (Michaels $20)

Linseed oil (Michaels $9)

Disposable palette paper (Michaels $10)

Baby oil (Walmart 20 oz $5)

Several Brushes for Oils, synthetic or horsehair, prices vary depending on what you buy

Odorless paint thinner (Michaels $15)

Pencils

Roll of paper towels

Empty small jar (4 oz size, like baby food jar) with lid

Apron
