Designed for the beginning basket maker, this class will give you the tools and techniques you need to create your own basket collection. Students will learn how to read patterns, prepare materials, weave a basket and finish it properly. In the first class you will learn to make a simple square to round Napkin Basket. For each subsequent basket, you will build on that basic knowledge and add a new element or technique. Students can expect to make several in this class. This class will provide you with a variety of skills in both traditional and contemporary basketmaking. No experience is necessary. Cost includes all basket material and patterns. Students should bring a bucket or Rubbermaid® tub for soaking reed, ruler or tape measure, cutting shears, pencil, awl or ice pick, towel and/or apron, spray bottle, utility knife for scraping rims.
