Stone Setting Workshop

Location: Sycamore Building, 7231

This workshop is perfect for students with metalsmithing experience who want to expand their skills and incorporate cabochon stones into their work. Designed for intermediate students, it covers bezel setting for round and oval stones. The class will also cover prong/claw settings for irregularly shaped stones. Copper sheet and wire will be provided. Those wishing to work in silver should bring 20-gauge silver sheet and 18 and 16 gauge silver wire.

Student will need to bring their cabochons, suggested sizes are:

  • round or oval cabochon, with a hardness of 7 or more

Appropriate sizes

Please wear closed-toe shoes and pull your long hair back.
